The Barry County Parks & Recreation Commission provides opportunities for local Townships, Villages, and Municipalities, within the borders of Barry County, to apply for grants through the Local Unit Mini-Grant program. The purpose of the Barry County Parks & Recreation Commission grant funding program is to promote opportunities to improve public recreation facilities, activities, and equipment, within Barry County. Although non-profit organizations are not eligible to apply, they are encouraged to work with municipalities or schools on grant proposals.

Barry County Parks and Recreation Commission awards $15,000 in funding annually. In the past, grants have been awarded for a minimum of $500 to a maximum of $15,000. Grant awards of more than $2,000 require a 25% cash match.
